Drug intelligence / Profile preview
iFEROL is an R&D project developed by Laboratorios Farmalan in collaboration with Faes Farma, focused on the development of new pharmaceutical formulations or analogues based on calcifediol (25-hydroxyvitamin D3). The project aims to address vitamin D deficiency and its associated pathologies, including cardiovascular conditions and autoimmune diseases. iFEROL leverages the immunomodulatory properties of vitamin D, acting through the Vitamin D Receptor (VDR) to regulate gene expression involved in calcium homeostasis and immune system modulation. It is currently in advanced development stages, targeting both traditional deficiency and broader immunomodulatory indications.
