IFN beta-CTP is a long-acting, C-terminal peptide (CTP)–modified recombinant human interferon beta analog developed to extend the half-life and reduce dosing frequency of interferon beta therapy for multiple sclerosis and potentially oncology indications. It is created by fusing interferon beta to a carboxy-terminal peptide sequence that enhances in vivo stability and exposure, enabling sustained interferon receptor activation compared with conventional interferon beta products in preclinical models.[5][6] Like other interferon beta agents, it exerts antiviral and immunomodulatory effects through binding to the type I interferon receptor (IFNAR), activating JAK-STAT signaling, modulating cytokine production, and reducing inflammatory cell trafficking, which are leveraged for treatment of relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis and anti-tumor activity.[3][4][5][6]
