Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IFN-SARS-CoV (also known as the IBIS construct) is a preclinical-stage interferon-integrated vaccine candidate being developed by Canthevac for the prevention of COVID-19 and SARS. Utilizing Canthevac's proprietary Interferon-integrated Vaccine Platform (IVP), the vaccine incorporates interferon activity directly into a live-attenuated viral vector construct targeting SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2. Administered intranasally, the vaccine is designed to infect respiratory epithelial cells and trigger the release of interferon, thereby activating local antiviral defenses and boosting mucosal T-cell and B-cell immunity while preventing further replication of the vaccine virus for safety.
