These findings support further testing of the II regimen versus topotecan in properly randomized clinical trials. Another study examined a triple combination of cisplatin, ifosfamide, and irinotecan with rhG-CSF support, which showed an even higher response rate of 94.4% in refractory or relapsed SCLC[2]. This suggests that ifosfamide and irinotecan can be effectively combined with other agents for enhanced efficacy, though with potentially increased toxicity.
