IMED-P is a multi-agent chemotherapy regimen primarily utilized for the treatment of extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma (ENKTL), nasal type. The regimen is a combination of five agents: ifosfamide, methotrexate, etoposide, dexamethasone, and pegaspargase. It is often studied in sequence or comparison with other asparaginase-containing regimens such as GDP-P (gemcitabine, dexamethasone, cisplatin, and pegaspargase). The inclusion of pegaspargase is a critical component in ENKTL therapy because NK/T-cell lymphoma cells typically lack asparagine synthetase, making them highly vulnerable to the depletion of systemic L-asparagine. This regimen has been notably evaluated in Phase III clinical trials led by the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center for early-stage disease.
