IFX-027

IFX-027 is an experimental cyclic amphiphilic peptide identified within a research program developing broad-spectrum antimicrobial peptides derived from a common template and optimized for enhanced antimicrobial activity and low hemolytic toxicity. It belongs to a library of more than 200 related peptides (including IFX-135, IFX-145, and IFX-146) engineered to improve potency against a wide range of pathogens while maintaining favorable safety toward human red blood cells, where prototype peptides such as IFX-301 demonstrated high HC50 values indicating minimal hemolysis.[11][3] Although IFX-027 itself has been disclosed as part of this library, detailed target, spectrum of activity, and clinical development data have not yet been publicly described, suggesting it remains at an early, preclinical research stage.
