IFX-154

IFX-154 is an investigational cyclic amphiphilic peptide identified within a research program developing broad-spectrum antimicrobial peptides with activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. In a Pandemic PACT–funded project on cyclic amphiphilic peptides, IFX-154 was reported as one of several leads (including IFX-027, IFX-135, IFX-145, IFX-146, and IFX-301) that exhibited minimum inhibitory concentrations in the 1.5–25 µg/mL range against a variety of bacterial strains, indicating potent in vitro antimicrobial activity.[13] The compound’s mechanism is presumed to involve membrane-targeting disruption typical of amphiphilic antimicrobial peptides, although a specific molecular target has not been defined. IFX-154 appears to be at an early, preclinical research stage, with no publicly available data on clinical development, formal indication, or sponsoring company beyond its inclusion in the described academic/consortium research program.[13]
