Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**IG-004 (TOCOSOL® paclitaxel)** is a nanomedicine formulation of the chemotherapy agent paclitaxel, utilizing a tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate (TPGS)-based emulsion to enhance solubility and delivery without Cremophor EL, potentially reducing hypersensitivity reactions associated with standard paclitaxel. It acts as a microtubule stabilizer, inhibiting cell division in rapidly proliferating cancer cells. Developed through a collaboration between Sorrento Therapeutics and IGDRASOL, IG-004 has advanced to late-stage clinical testing, completing Phase 2 or 3 trials for metastatic breast cancer (MBC).[3]
