Overview

IG001119 is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of the voltage-gated sodium channel Nav1.8 (SCN10A), currently under development by Iongen Therapeutics for the treatment of pain. Nav1.8 is a sodium channel subtype primarily expressed in peripheral sensory neurons (nociceptors) and is a key mediator of pain signal transmission. By selectively blocking Nav1.8, IG001119 is designed to provide effective analgesia while minimizing the central nervous system and cardiovascular side effects often associated with non-selective sodium channel blockers or the addiction risks of opioids. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile in healthy participants.
