IGEV

IGEV is a chemotherapy combination regimen consisting of ifosfamide, gemcitabine, vinorelbine, and prednisolone. It is primarily used as salvage therapy for relapsed or refractory Hodgkin lymphoma and sometimes non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The regimen combines agents with different mechanisms of action to maximize anti-tumor activity and facilitate stem cell mobilization prior to autologous stem cell transplantation. Ifosfamide is an alkylating agent that crosslinks DNA; gemcitabine is a nucleoside analog that inhibits DNA synthesis; vinorelbine disrupts microtubule formation during mitosis; and prednisolone is a corticosteroid with lympholytic effects[1][2][5]. The combination has demonstrated high efficacy in stem cell mobilization and manageable toxicity profiles.
