IGF2BP1 siRNA (or knockdown) refers to small interfering RNA molecules designed to specifically target and silence the expression of Insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA-binding protein 1 (IGF2BP1), an oncofetal RNA-binding protein and m6A reader. In research settings, IGF2BP1 knockdown is widely utilized to investigate the role of IGF2BP1 in promoting tumor cell proliferation, invasion, metastasis, and chemoresistance across various cancers, including uterine sarcoma, breast cancer, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Silencing IGF2BP1 has been shown to downregulate oncogenic targets such as c-Myc and ABCB1 (MDR1), thereby sensitizing cancer cells to chemotherapeutic agents like doxorubicin.
