IgG ATAC is an oral small molecule heterobifunctional protein degrader developed by Avilar Therapeutics for the treatment of IgG-driven autoimmune diseases. It is the lead candidate from Avilar's proprietary ATAC (Antibody-Targeted Autologous Cell) platform, which is designed to target and degrade extracellular proteins. The molecule functions by simultaneously binding to circulating Immunoglobulin G (IgG) and the asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGPR) expressed on the surface of hepatocytes. This dual engagement triggers the endocytosis of the IgG-ATAC complex into the liver cell, where it is trafficked to the lysosome for degradation. By selectively reducing the levels of pathogenic autoantibodies in the blood, IgG ATAC offers a novel therapeutic approach for a variety of autoimmune conditions mediated by IgG, such as myasthenia gravis and CIDP.
