Overview

IgG-IR700 is a conjugate composed of rat Immunoglobulin G (IgG) and the near-infrared (NIR) dye IR700. It functions as a non-target isotype control in photoimmunotherapy (PIT) experiments, specifically in preclinical studies for ovarian cancer. In the broader context of PIT, antibody-IR700 conjugates are designed to selectively damage target cells upon local exposure to NIR light. As a control, IgG-IR700 helps distinguish specific antibody-mediated effects from general light-induced cytotoxicity or non-specific interactions of the IR700 dye. Although primarily a non-targeting control, it has demonstrated slight cytotoxicity at high photo-irradiation doses and increased sensitivity to treatment in cells pre-treated with IFN-γ.
