IgG-IRDye800CW refers to a bioconjugate composed of an immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody labeled with the near-infrared fluorescent dye **IRDye800CW**. This conjugate is primarily used as an **optical imaging agent** in preclinical and translational research, offering high sensitivity for tumor detection and intraoperative imaging. IgG can be either a non-specific immunoglobulin (control) or a specific monoclonal antibody, depending on the application. The IRDye800CW component provides near-infrared fluorescence (excitation around 785 nm, emission around 803 nm), allowing deep tissue penetration and low background autofluorescence for imaging. The mechanism of action is based on targeted accumulation of the antibody component (via antigen-specific binding if antigen-directed, or via enhanced permeability and retention effect if non-specific) and subsequent detection via the fluorescent label. IgG-IRDye800CW conjugates have been evaluated for **in vivo imaging of tumors** in animal models and have been translated to early phase human clinical research for fluorescence-guided surgery and real-time tumor visualization.
