Overview

IGM-6268 is a humanized pentameric IgM monoclonal antibody engineered to target the receptor binding domain (RBD) of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. It is designed for intranasal and intraoral administration as both a treatment and prophylactic agent for mild to moderate COVID-19. The antibody has 10 binding sites, enabling high avidity and broad neutralization capacity against multiple SARS-CoV-2 variants, including Omicron and Delta. Its primary mechanism of action is blocking the interaction between the viral RBD and human angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (hACE2), thereby preventing viral entry into host cells. Preclinical studies demonstrated potent prevention and treatment efficacy in animal models, with enhanced activity compared to IgG antibodies targeting the same epitope[1][4][6][7][8].
