Overview

IgM ATAC is an oral heterobifunctional protein degrader being developed by Avilar Therapeutics for the treatment of Anti-MAG neuropathy. It is part of the company's Antibody-Targeted Autologous Cell (ATAC) platform, which utilizes the asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGPR) expressed on hepatocytes to facilitate the endocytosis and subsequent lysosomal degradation of extracellular proteins. IgM ATAC is specifically designed to target and degrade pathogenic Immunoglobulin M (IgM) autoantibodies, which are the primary drivers of demyelination and nerve damage in Anti-MAG neuropathy. By lowering the levels of these circulating autoantibodies, the therapy aims to provide a disease-modifying treatment for patients suffering from this chronic autoimmune condition.
