Overview

IGN311 is a fully humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the Lewis Y carbohydrate antigen, a blood-group-related oligosaccharide overexpressed in 60–90% of human carcinomas of epithelial origin. It is designed for passive immunotherapy of cancer, particularly targeting tumors with high Lewis Y expression. IGN311 mediates tumor cell lysis through complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC) and antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). Clinical studies have shown it can reduce circulating tumor cells in patients and has demonstrated a good safety profile in phase I trials, with dose-limiting toxicities including nausea, vomiting, and hypotension at higher doses. The drug was developed by Igeneon.
