Overview

IGN523 is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets CD98 (also known as SLC3A2), a protein highly expressed on the surface of various tumor cells, including those in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and certain solid tumors such as non-small cell lung cancer. Upon intravenous administration, IGN523 binds to CD98 and exerts multiple antitumor mechanisms of action. These include strong induction of antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), lysosomal membrane permeabilization, inhibition of essential amino acid transport function, and subsequent caspase-3/7-mediated apoptosis in tumor cells. Preclinical studies have shown robust antitumor activity in both hematological malignancies and solid tumor models. IGN523 has been evaluated in a Phase 1 clinical trial for relapsed or refractory AML[1][3][5][6][8].
