Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IGNITE-THT is a clinical-stage combination therapy regimen being developed by Sona Nanotech. It combines Sona's proprietary Targeted Hyperthermia Therapy (THT)—which utilizes biocompatible, CTAB-free gold nanorods activated by near-infrared laser light to generate localized therapeutic heat (42–48°C) within solid tumors—with intratumoral and systemic immunotherapy (such as immune checkpoint inhibitors). The regimen is designed to treat late-stage, immunotherapy-resistant cutaneous metastatic melanoma. By inducing immunogenic cell death and releasing tumor-specific neoantigens, THT aims to turn immunologically 'cold' tumors 'hot,' thereby restoring or enhancing the efficacy of the co-administered immunotherapy drugs in patients who had previously failed on those same treatments.
