Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IgPro20 is a highly purified, ready-to-use liquid formulation of human immunoglobulin G (IgG) for subcutaneous injection. It is stabilized with L-proline and contains a 20% concentration of IgG. The product is designed to provide passive immunity by supplying exogenous polyclonal antibodies derived from pooled human plasma. Its primary mechanism involves restoring or maintaining normal serum levels of IgG in patients with antibody deficiencies or immune-mediated diseases. By supplementing deficient or dysfunctional endogenous antibodies, it helps prevent infections and modulate abnormal immune responses. Developed by CSL Behring, IgPro20 (marketed as Hizentra) is approved for the treatment of primary immunodeficiency disorders (PID), chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), and other conditions requiring immunoglobulin replacement therapy[1][2][7]. It can be self-administered at home via subcutaneous injection.
