Overview

iHSC003 is an investigational CAR-engineered cell therapy developed by Cell Inspire Biotechnology. It utilizes hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) that are genetically modified to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) specific for the CD19 antigen. Unlike traditional CAR-T therapies that use mature T cells, this approach uses stem cells to potentially provide a long-term, self-renewing source of CAR-expressing progeny, including various immune cell lineages. iHSC003 is designed to target and eliminate CD19-positive B cells, making it a candidate for treating B-cell malignancies like lymphoma and B-cell-driven autoimmune conditions such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), idiopathic inflammatory myopathy (IIM), and systemic sclerosis. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
