IHV01 is a protein subunit HIV-1 vaccine candidate composed of a full-length single chain (FLSC) gp120-CD4 chimeric protein formulated with an aluminum phosphate adjuvant. The FLSC construct presents a highly conserved CD4-induced (CD4i) HIV-1 envelope structure designed to elicit cross-reactive humoral immune responses against diverse HIV-1 strains. The vaccine aims to induce broadly reactive antibodies targeting multiple domains of the HIV envelope, including conserved CD4i epitopes on gp120. IHV01 has been evaluated in phase 1 clinical trials for safety and immunogenicity in healthy, HIV-uninfected adults and was found to be safe, well tolerated, and capable of inducing robust antibody responses[1][3][6]. It is being developed primarily as a preventive vaccine for HIV-1 infection.
