Overview

IK-01 is an autologous human cartilage cell processed product developed by Hirosaki Lifescience Innovation, Inc. for the treatment of focal knee cartilage injuries and osteochondritis dissecans. The therapy involves the transplantation of the patient's own processed chondrocytes into cartilage defects to promote tissue regeneration and repair. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 3 clinical trial in Japan, where its efficacy and safety are being compared against microfracture surgery, a standard-of-care surgical technique for cartilage repair.
