Overview

IK-862 is a synthetic small molecule inhibitor with potential therapeutic applications in oncology. Its primary mechanism of action involves the inhibition of angiogenesis, a process crucial for tumor survival and growth, by targeting specific signaling pathways involved in endothelial cell proliferation and migration. It has been shown to inhibit vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signaling and also acts as a TNF-alpha converting enzyme (TACE, also known as ADAM17) inhibitor. IK-862 demonstrates significant biological activity in inhibiting tumor growth and inducing apoptosis in cancer cells. Preclinical and clinical studies have explored its use in various cancers, and it may also enhance the efficacy of other chemotherapeutic agents by sensitizing cancer cells to treatment.
