IKBKE siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic designed to silence the expression of the IKBKE gene, which encodes the non-canonical IκB kinase epsilon (IKKε). IKBKE is an oncogene that is frequently overexpressed in various malignancies, including triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), pancreatic cancer, and prostate cancer, where it promotes cell survival, proliferation, and metastasis. The siRNA functions through the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, specifically targeting IKBKE mRNA for degradation via the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), thereby reducing IKKε protein levels. To overcome the challenges of systemic delivery and cellular uptake, IKBKE siRNA is typically encapsulated in advanced delivery systems such as amino acid-modified lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) or hyaluronic acid-modified hybrid nanocomplexes. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that these formulations can effectively inhibit tumor growth and enhance the efficacy of chemotherapeutic agents like cabazitaxel.
