Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IKC-151V is a gene therapy drug developed by Ikarovec Ltd. It is a bi-cistronic vector designed to treat retinal conditions associated with significant vascular remodeling, particularly wet age-related macular degeneration (wet-AMD). The drug has demonstrated the ability to reverse neovascularization in murine AMD models. Research suggests that IKC-151V gene therapy can reverse vascular changes occurring during neovascular AMD (nAMD), with findings indicating that connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) plays a role in its mechanism of action. The drug is currently in preclinical development stage.
