Overview

IKT525 is a preclinical-stage small molecule inhibitor developed by Iktos, specifically targeting methylenetetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase 2 (MTHFD2) for the treatment of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Discovered using Iktos's proprietary AI-driven platforms, Makya and Spaya, IKT525 is a potent and highly selective inhibitor with an IC50 of less than 5 nM and greater than 1000-fold selectivity over the related enzyme MTHFD1. By inhibiting MTHFD2, which plays a critical role in the mitochondrial one-carbon metabolism of activated immune cells, IKT525 aims to provide a first-in-class therapeutic option with a potentially superior safety profile compared to existing treatments like JAK1 inhibitors.
