Overview

The IL-1β Allergy cVLP Vaccine is a preclinical therapeutic vaccine candidate developed by AdaptVac for the treatment of allergic contact dermatitis. The vaccine utilizes AdaptVac's proprietary capsid virus-like particle (cVLP) platform, which employs the SpyTag/SpyCatcher protein ligation system to display antigens in a highly organized, repetitive array that mimics the structure of a virus. This architecture is designed to trigger a potent and durable immune response, inducing the production of endogenous antibodies that neutralize interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β). By targeting IL-1β, a central mediator of the inflammatory response in skin allergies, the vaccine aims to provide long-term relief from dermatitis symptoms with fewer administrations than traditional monoclonal antibody therapies.
