Overview
IL-1RAP CAR T-cells are chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies engineered to target interleukin-1 receptor accessory protein (IL-1RAP), a cell surface glycoprotein overexpressed on leukemic stem cells and blasts in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), while being minimally expressed on normal hematopoietic stem cells. These therapies are designed to selectively eliminate IL-1RAP-expressing leukemic cells. Several candidates are in development, including CCTx-001 (developed by Advesya, formerly CanCell Therapeutics), which is being evaluated in clinical trials for relapsed/refractory AML, as well as preclinical programs at City of Hope and King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre.
