IL-4Rα siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to target and silence the expression of interleukin-4 receptor subunit alpha (IL-4Rα). IL-4Rα is a key component of both Type I and Type II IL-4/IL-13 receptor complexes, which mediate Th2-type immune responses and are implicated in tumor cell survival, metastasis, and resistance to apoptosis. By knocking down IL-4Rα, this siRNA inhibits downstream JAK/STAT6 signaling, leading to reduced cell viability, increased apoptosis, and impaired metastatic growth in various cancer models, such as breast cancer. It is also investigated in preclinical models of respiratory diseases like asthma to reduce airway hyperresponsiveness and inflammation. It is widely used as a research-use-only tool for gene silencing and target validation.
