It is designed to target the Interleukin-1 receptor (IL-1R), functioning as an antagonist to block IL-1 signaling pathways. The drug is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of Multiple Myeloma within the oncology therapeutic area. As a biobetter, IL-BTM is engineered to provide improved therapeutic properties, such as enhanced efficacy or superior pharmacological profile, compared to existing IL-1 receptor antagonists.
