Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IL-OTM (PB(OA)-5010) is a recombinant protein biobetter developed by Paras Biopharmaceuticals for the treatment of osteoarthritis. It is designed as a transdermal patch formulation that targets the Interleukin-1 receptor (IL-1R). By blocking IL-1R, the drug aims to modulate the inflammatory and catabolic processes driven by IL-1, which are central to the progression of joint degradation in osteoarthritis. The transdermal patch delivery system is intended to provide localized or systemic delivery of the therapeutic protein, potentially improving patient compliance and reducing side effects compared to systemic injections. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
