IL12-SS1 FV is a recombinant immunocytokine created by fusing interleukin-12 (IL-12), a potent pro-inflammatory cytokine, to an anti-mesothelin single-chain variable fragment (SS1 Fv). This fusion protein is designed for targeted cancer immunotherapy, specifically for tumors that overexpress mesothelin, such as malignant mesothelioma and ovarian cancer. By targeting mesothelin, IL12-SS1 FV delivers IL-12 directly to the tumor microenvironment, aiming to enhance anti-tumor immune responses and mitigate systemic toxicity typically associated with IL-12 therapy. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that IL12-SS1 FV binds mesothelin-positive tumor cells, exhibits the biological activity of IL-12, significantly inhibits tumor growth in mouse models, and shows a favorable toxicity profile with minimal systemic adverse effects[1][3][5].
