IL13Ra2 shRNA is a research-stage molecular tool utilizing short hairpin RNA (shRNA) to silence the expression of the Interleukin-13 Receptor Alpha 2 (IL13Ra2) gene via RNA interference (RNAi). IL13Ra2 is a high-affinity decoy receptor for IL-13 that is overexpressed in various malignancies, including glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), pancreatic cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). In preclinical models, knockdown of IL13Ra2 using shRNA has been shown to inhibit tumor cell migration, invasion, and adhesion, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target. These shRNA constructs are typically delivered via viral vectors (lentiviral or retroviral) and are primarily used in laboratory settings to study gene function and oncogenic pathways.
