IL13Ralpha2 SIR-T is an investigational cell therapy being developed by Angeles Therapeutics. It utilizes the company's proprietary Synthetic Immune Receptor (SIR) technology to engineer T cells that specifically target Interleukin-13 receptor alpha 2 (IL13Rα2), a protein frequently overexpressed in solid tumors such as glioblastoma multiforme. Unlike traditional Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T cells, SIR-T cells are designed to signal through the natural T-cell receptor (TCR) complex, potentially offering improved sensitivity, persistence, and a more regulated immune response. The program is currently in the IND-enabling phase of development, with a primary focus on treating glioblastoma and other IL13Rα2-positive solid tumors.
