IL15-NK Cell refers to a form of cell therapy in which natural killer (NK) cells are primed or expanded using interleukin-15 (IL-15), a cytokine critical for NK cell development, survival, and activation. IL-15 acts through its receptor complex on NK cells, activating downstream pathways such as JAK1/3/STAT3/5, PI3K/Akt/mTOR, and Ras/Raf/MEK/ERK. This priming enhances the anti-tumor activity of NK cells by increasing their cytotoxicity, degranulation capacity, and cytokine production[2][1][3]. The approach is being investigated primarily for cancer immunotherapy due to its ability to boost innate immune responses against tumors. Recombinant human IL-15 and various engineered complexes have entered clinical trials for multiple cancer types[1][2][5].
