Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ilariz-LSR is an oral fixed-dose combination capsule developed and marketed by Ritz Pharma. It contains **ilaprazole**, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), and **levosulpiride**, a prokinetic agent, in a sustained-release formulation. The product is indicated for the management of acid-related disorders such as peptic ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), as well as gastroparesis. Ilaprazole acts by covalently binding to the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme (the gastric proton pump) in parietal cells, effectively blocking the final step of acid production. Levosulpiride acts as a selective antagonist at dopamine D2 receptors in the gastrointestinal tract, which promotes gastric emptying and improves motility, thereby addressing symptoms of dyspepsia and delayed gastric transit.
