Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ilon (specifically ilon Salbe classic) is a traditional herbal medicinal product used for the treatment of localized inflammatory skin conditions such as abscesses, boils, carbuncles, and infected wounds. Developed by the German company Cesra, it contains a combination of larch turpentine, purified turpentine oil, and essential oils including rosemary, eucalyptus, and thyme. The ointment works by promoting local blood circulation (hyperemia), exerting antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, and supporting the natural healing process of the skin. It is an established phytopharmaceutical marketed in Europe, particularly in Germany, and is not a novel drug candidate in clinical development.
