Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ILT1 is an allogeneic islet cell therapy program being developed by Lineage Cell Therapeutics for the treatment of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). The program focuses on the large-scale production of functional islet cells—pancreatic cells responsible for secreting hormones such as insulin and glucagon—using a proprietary dynamic culturing system. By leveraging its manufacturing capabilities, Lineage aims to overcome commercialization hurdles associated with traditional islet cell therapies. Future development plans include demonstrating compatibility with hypo-immune cell lines to potentially eliminate the need for chronic immunosuppression in clinical T1D applications.
