Iluzanebart is a fully human monoclonal antibody developed as an agonist of the triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (TREM2). It is being investigated primarily for the treatment of Adult-Onset Leukoencephalopathy with Axonal Spheroids and Pigmented Glia (ALSP), a rare neurodegenerative disorder caused by mutations in the CSF1R gene. By activating TREM2, iluzanebart aims to restore microglial function, which may compensate for CSF1R deficiency and potentially slow or halt disease progression. The drug is currently in Phase II clinical trials for ALSP and has orphan drug designation for leukoencephalopathies. Vigil Neuroscience leads its development, with Amgen identified as the originator[1][3][4][5][6][8].
