IM19-CD28 CAR-T cells are an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to target the CD19 antigen, a protein expressed on the surface of B-cells and associated with various B-cell malignancies. This specific construct utilizes a CD28 costimulatory signaling domain, which is typically associated with rapid T-cell activation and potent effector function. Developed by Beijing Boren Hospital, IM19-CD28 is being investigated in Phase 1 clinical trials in China for the treatment of patients with relapsed or refractory CD19-positive aggressive non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, including diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and grade 3 follicular lymphoma. The therapy involves genetically modifying a patient's own T-cells to express the CAR, enabling them to recognize and eliminate CD19-positive tumor cells.
