Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**IMA001** is a novel small molecule nucleotide developed for the treatment of sickle cell disease (SCD). It targets coenzyme mechanisms central to cellular metabolism, demonstrating efficacy in reducing sickling, improving anemia and hemolysis parameters, and enhancing hematological and vascular outcomes during vaso-occlusive crises (VOCs) in preclinical in vivo models. Initially developed by Nuvamid SA and also associated with Imalia and LGD SARL, it shows potential as a safe therapeutic to address key pathophysiology in SCD, including during acute VOC episodes.[1][2][3][5][9][10]
