IMA107 is a small molecule radioligand designed as a selective phosphodiesterase 10A (PDE10A) inhibitor and positron emission tomography (PET) imaging agent. It binds to PDE10A, an enzyme highly expressed in striatal medium spiny neurons, enabling in vivo visualization of PDE10A availability and distribution. The agent is of interest not only as a research tool for neuroimaging studies in psychiatric and neurologic disorders (such as schizophrenia, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, and cocaine use disorder), but also potentially for guiding PDE10A-targeted therapeutics. Developed by Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma, IMA107 is not a therapeutic but a diagnostic imaging agent for use in clinical and translational research on the brain’s PDE10A system.
