IMA201 is an investigational autologous T-cell receptor (TCR)-engineered cell therapy developed by Immatics. It uses a proprietary ACTengine® approach to genetically modify a patient's own T lymphocytes with a lentiviral vector encoding a TCR specific for tumor-associated antigens MAGEA4 and MAGEA8. The engineered T cells are designed to recognize and kill solid tumor cells expressing these cancer-germline antigens. The therapy aims to provide targeted immunologic cytotoxicity against tumors while sparing healthy tissues due to the high specificity of the selected TCRs. Clinical development has focused on advanced or metastatic solid tumors, including hepatocellular carcinoma and relapsed/refractory solid neoplasms[1][2][3][4][5][7].
