Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IMA40x is a preclinical-stage T cell engaging receptor (TCER®) product candidate being developed by Immatics for the treatment of solid tumors. As a TCR bispecific biologic, IMA40x is designed to engage T cells and direct them to target cancer cells by recognizing specific peptides presented by HLA-A*02:01 and other HLA types. The TCER® platform leverages the specificity of T cell receptors to target intracellular cancer-associated proteins that are processed and presented as peptides on the cell surface, which are typically inaccessible to traditional antibody-based therapies. By binding both the peptide-HLA complex on tumor cells and the CD3 receptor on T cells, IMA40x facilitates the formation of an artificial immune synapse, leading to T cell activation and tumor cell lysis.
