Imaprelimab

Imaprelimab (PRX003) is a humanized monoclonal antibody developed for the treatment of Th17-mediated inflammatory diseases. It targets CD146, also known as melanoma cell adhesion molecule (MCAM), which is expressed on the surface of Th17 cells. By binding to and downregulating MCAM, imaprelimab sequesters pro-inflammatory Th17 cells in the bloodstream and prevents their migration into tissues—a key step in initiating or perpetuating inflammation. This mechanism may impact multiple cytokine-driven disease processes by targeting pathogenic T cells rather than individual cytokines. Imaprelimab has been investigated primarily for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis but has also been considered for other autoimmune and inflammatory conditions such as multiple sclerosis[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8].
