IMB102 is a preclinical small molecule drug candidate being developed by ImCare Biotech for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and other cancers. The drug functions as an inhibitor of Serine Protease Inhibitor Kazal (SPIK), a protein that is frequently upregulated in HCC and acts to suppress the pro-apoptotic activity of Granzyme A (GzmA). By blocking SPIK, IMB102 restores the immune system's natural capacity to eliminate malignant cells via the SPIK/GzmA pathway. Discovered through high-throughput screening, IMB102 has demonstrated an IC50 of approximately 1µM in vitro, representing a novel immunotherapy approach aimed at enhancing immune-mediated tumor cell death.
