Overview

IMD-026259 is a proprietary synthetic rocaglate small molecule originally optimized from the flavagline series by Bayer/InterMed Discovery as a highly potent, naturally based-derived inhibitor of hypoxia-inducible factor 1 (HIF-1) with neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory properties, being developed primarily for disease-modifying treatment of Parkinson’s disease and other oxidative stress-related neurodegenerative and neuro-inflammatory disorders.[1][3][4][7][9] Preclinical data indicate that IMD-026259 (also referred to as IMD‑1 in the synthetic rocaglate family) modulates stress-response and survival pathways, shows robust neuroprotection in several Parkinson’s models, and can influence cancer cell metabolism and proliferation, consistent with the broader pharmacology of rocaglates on translation and cellular stress signaling.[4][5][7]
