iMDC-735 is an induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived macrophage-drug conjugate (MDC) currently in preclinical development by Cellis for the treatment of glioblastoma. As the iPSC-derived counterpart to the company's lead candidate MDC-735, iMDC-735 leverages the innate ability of macrophages to cross the blood-brain barrier and infiltrate the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment of glioblastoma. By using an iPSC-based manufacturing platform, Cellis aims to produce a standardized, off-the-shelf cell therapy that delivers a cytotoxic payload directly to tumor cells, potentially overcoming the limitations of primary cell-derived therapies. The program is currently undergoing preclinical evaluation with plans to advance into Phase I/II clinical trials.
