ImDendrim is a radiopharmaceutical agent comprising a **Rhenium-188 (188Re)** complex coupled to an imidazolic ligand and associated with a **polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimer** scaffold. It is designed for the treatment of inoperable primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) or metastatic liver cancers that have failed conventional therapies. The drug is administered via in situ (intratumoral) injection, which allows for the localized delivery of high-dose ionizing radiation directly to the tumor mass while minimizing systemic exposure and damage to healthy liver tissue. Rhenium-188 is a beta-emitting isotope that provides the therapeutic effect through localized cell death and DNA damage, while also emitting gamma radiation suitable for scintigraphic imaging to monitor drug distribution.
